When I first got the itch to start a blog, I resisted scratching for at least two weeks. I had no desire to play for a month and then quit. There were already an ample number of orphaned blogs cluttering up the net.

Finally, I gave in and created this hideous thing over at blogspot. One year ago today, I started with this silly post.

My goals in starting a blog were:

• Improve my writing
• Serve as a political outlet
• Serve as a creative outlet
• Make some friends
• Score millions in endorsement deals

After 1000 posts and one year of blogging, all of these goals are being met. The enjoyment from writing and maintaining this site has far outweighed the dollars and time spent doing it.

As long as that continues, so will I.
