I just had a nice chat with a DeLay staffer. She was visiting the media center to deliver an announcement. I mentioned that I lived in District 22 and she asked who I worked for. I risked blowing my cover and told her that I was writing for a weblog. Her response:

Oh, you're a blogger! You aren't a bad blogger, are you? I hope you don't write an anti-Tom DeLay blog!

I assured her that I was one of the good guys. We talked for a few moments about the speech he gave earlier today and also talked about the state of the House and Senate. This brief encounter left me with two impressions:

1. I was impressed with the caliber of the staff that work for Tom DeLay.
2. I was also pleased with her immediate familliarity with the blog world.
