This is good news, but I find the phraseology rather whacked:
An infant believed to be the fetus cut from its murdered mother's womb was found alive and in good health in the state of Kansas Friday, according to police.I'm not sure how the police found this child...after all, they were really looking for a fetus. And as far as criminal charges go, we definitely have murder but let's not be too hasty throwing around the word 'kidnapping'. All that was really taken was something completely disposable, a mere fetus. It isn't really their fault that it changed into a baby, is it? I mean, if they botched the 'delivery' or left the child inside, all they would be guilty of would be abortion. </sarcasm> Maybe Jocelyn Elders will never understand our "love affair with the fetus," but some of us understand that a fetus is a child in the womb. An unborn person. I loved my kids both before they were born and after. This story is so horrific because the woman was killed for the baby inside of her; the one that was cut from her womb.
