Sports has always come with injury risks. Now it would seem that even the team bus is a dangerous place:
The winning pitcher in Wednesday night's Tribe game against Kansas City was shot after the game.Fortunately, Mr. Denny was not seriously injured because of his attire. His unique attire:Kyle Denney, 27, was hospitalized after being shot in the leg while riding on the team bus.
Team officials said the bullet also grazed outfielder Ryan Ludwick, but he wasn't hurt.
The shooting happened while the team was headed to the Kansas City International Airport, Cleveland television station WEWS reported.
Police said the shot was fired into the side of the team's second bus while it was on a ramp between Interstate 435 and I-70.
Denney was shot in the calf and apparently the go-go boots he was wearing helped him escape serious injury. On the last road trip of the year, rookies are subjected to an initiation process from the veteran players. Mr. Denny was dressed in a cheerleader's outfit at the time of the shooting.
I'm thinking this is information that may come back to haunt him in the future. Like 'Denning Cheerleader Outfit Night' at a future Indians game.
