Wictory Wednesday
At the Republican Convention, the primary theme is the War on Terror.

Arnold:

My fellow Americans, make no mistake about it: Terrorism is more insidious than Communism, because it yearns to destroy not just the individual, but the entire international order.

The president did not go into Iraq because the polls told him it was popular. As a matter of fact, the polls said just the opposite. But leadership isn't about polls. It's about making decisions you think are right and then standing behind those decisions.

That's why America is safer with George W. Bush as president.

Giuliani:
And as we look beyond this election and realize that elections do accentuate our differences, let's make sure that we rekindle that spirit that we had, that we are one America. We are united to end the threat of global terrorism as one people.

Certainly President Bush will keep us focused on that goal. When President Bush announced his commitment to ending global terrorism, he understood, I understood, we all understood that it was critical to remove the pillars of support for the global terrorist movement.

McCain:
We are engaged in a hard struggle against a cruel and determined adversary. Our enemies have made clear the danger they pose to our security and the very essence of our culture: liberty.

Only the most deluded of us could doubt the necessity of this war. Like all wars, this one will have its ups and downs. But we must fight. We must.

Sponsors of terror around the world have added their own exclaimation mark to this theme over the past two days:
Yesterday:
  • 16 Israeli civilians dead, 80 wounded after two busses were bombed by Hamas
  • 12 Nepalese hostages killed by Iraqi insurgents
  • 10 Russian citizens killed and dozens wounded by a Chechen suicide bomber
Today:
  • 132 Russian children plus an unknown number of adults are being held hostage by Chechen militants
  • 2 French journalists are still hostages of the Islamic Army in Iraq
There may be a few who read this news and see evidence that actions against terrorism are not working. Still, I believe that a majority of those who pay attention to the news understand that the rise of terrorism over the last two decades is something to be decisively eliminated rather than ignored. Given the choice between action and nuance, my vote goes for the man of action: George W. Bush.

My recommendation is that you also cast your November vote for the incumbent. If you have extra time or cash, you also might consider volunteering and/or donating to the Bush/Cheney campaign!

It's Wictory Wednesday again, and I'd like to talk to you Bush-stragglers out there - libertarians, super-conservatives, and those like me who have been disappointed with Federal spending the last four years. Believe me, I'm with you. I dream of...
