Successful Minutemen
Nice work, people:
The number of Mexican migrants trying to sneak into the United States through the Arizona border has dropped by half since hundreds of American civilians began guarding the area earlier this week, say Mexican officials assigned to protect their citizens. The article goes on to say that the project really isn't helping because the illegals will simply cross somewhere else. I think they are completely missing the point. This project is a simple demonstration of how possible it is to close our southern border. It will be a pity when the project ends, especially if the government doesn't pick up the ball once these citizens return home.

I think that’s a very interesting report, but I do have a question:
if the illegal immigrants are “sneaking” into the U.S., how do we know how many were sneaking in before the Minutemen showed up?

Good question. The article says:
Mexican officials encountered at least 400 undocumented migrants daily. On Monday, the second day Minutemen were present, they spotted just 198.
Interesting that this information is coming from Mexican officials, who turn a blind eye to the exodus they witness daily. But then again, I suppose it isn’t illegal to leave Mexico; only to enter the U.S. in an indocumented manner.
