Laughing Hiatus
For me, certain words always bring an image to mind which is actually related to a similar but different word. One example is a local bank that opened a new branch in the local strip mall. Every time I drive by Hibernia Bank, I see a bear poking his nose out of a cave whose mouth is mostly covered by snow drifts.
Not that my own bank is much better. Whenever I hear the name of my bank, I picture a stagecoach driving through the wilderness of the wild west...with my money in it. Unfortunately, the scene is anything but pastoral. The horses are moving at top speed because a horde of stagecoach robbers and an entire tribe of indians are in furious pursuit. (I have declined to mention the name of my bank for security reasons.)
Hiatus is another such word. It has always seemed kinda furry and hunched over, sporting spots, round ears and a silly grimace...

I guess what I'm really trying to say is that the here and now has become a season where I am forced to focus on several pressing responsibilities. Part of focusing on what is necessary means I will be mothballing all of my hobbies for the next several months. Adding content to this little-seen corner of the 'sphere does fall into the hobby category, and King of Fools is officially on hiatus as of right now.
I'm not out of opinions, ideas or things to say by any means. I'm just out of time to express them. I may post an occasional quote or thought or a story I cannot help but share, but for the most part, this place will be rather quiet. I am planning on returning, although I am aware that there will not be much to return to. A site abandoned by its author is inevitably abandoned by its readers.
By the way, if anyone wants to steal The Carnival of Carnivals, you are more than welcome to take it.
Peace,
KoF
