I agree with your comment, but I am worried about our rather shallow pool of starting pitchers at this point. I was forced to listen to the game on WSB (Braves’ flagship station) last night while driving through Missippi, Alabama, and Florida (couldn’t get 740 from Houston) and the Braves’ announcer said he’s picking the Cards to win the series. He even said he would have picked them to beat the Braves.

But, I’m keepin’ the faith. If any year was our year, this is it.

What is comforting about the Cardinals is that they do not have a dominant pitcher.  They have several guys who can do a fine job any given night, but their #1 guy (Woody Williams) is someone the Astros have had their way with this year.

The pitching only needs to be good as long as the bats are great.  It will be tough for them to win but I like their chances.
