Grade the Teacher
They just don't make teachers like they used to:
A Bronx teacher who repeatedly flunked his state certification exam paid a formerly homeless man with a developmental disorder $2 to take the test for him, authorities said yesterday.
Does anyone not comprehend this scenario? A man paid to educate Middle School students was not able to pass a state certification exam. So instead of studying for it, he paid someone to do it. Someone with a developmental disorder.

Someone who was capable of passing the test:

The illegal stand-in - who looks nothing like teacher Wayne Brightly - not only passed the high-stakes test, he scored so much better than the teacher had previously that the state knew something was wrong, officials said.
The teacher started as a substitute in 1992 and has taught full time since 1998.

Sigh.

First, we make the teacher change his last name by putting “Not-so-” in front of it. Then we fire the teacher, and give the homeless dude his job.

Problem solved.

As any wise farmer will tell you - you can’t teach what you don’t know any more than you can return to where you ain’t never been.

‘Nuff said.

Apparently, he really IS stupid. Please note the part of the article about the reporter going to the house for a comment “The man, who appeared to be in his late 30s, denied being Brightly - saying he was the teacher’s son.” The problem with that being that Brightly himself is only 38. So ... how can he have a 30-something old son? Even kids can do THAT math!

It does look like his $59k/year job is going away, not because he lacks the basic knowledge to be a teacher but because he cheated on a test.
