I’m not optimistic at all, but I’ve been wrong a lot lately.
Still, I doubt the people that support him are going to suddenly announce “Gee, we’ve been liberated from his crazy mind-control and we’re committed to find a peaceful solution to our situation!”
Well, when all you’ve got left is a little optimism, you just have to go with it.
Actually, the number of terror attacks on Israel have been on a steady decline as of late. Israel has been very effective in stopping terrorists and assasinating the leaders who are responsible. Iraq will calm down (and probably sooner rather than later, because of the way the election panned out), and Israel is pulling out of Gaza.
I think these are the things that the new leadership will have to contemplate and I think there is a chance that it will make a difference.
Note that none of these things are on the silly “roadmap to peace” but that’s ok. We are just taking a shortcut that is not on the map. (The proposed map would never take us anywhere anyways - at least not with Israel still in the bus.)

I think the wall has a lot to do with this. The one the UN didn’t want them to build....
Good riddance to that vile old fishbat.
