I just received the following email in my Yahoo mailbox:
Drae Ya!ooh Mebmer, We msut chcek thta yuor Yooha! ID was reeretsigd by rela poeple. So, to hlep Ya!ooh pnevert autamoted rertsigations, paelse cilck on tihs lkni and compleet code veitacifiron prsseco: (link removed) Tnahk youNote that this piece of work did not end up in the bulk folder but instead made it past the "Yooha!" spam filters and into my inbox. It it obvious that the intent is to sound like an official Yahoo comminique in order to dupe me into clicking the presumably malicious link. I guess what amused me is that in order to get past the spam filters, they were forced to mutliate the content to the point where I'm pretty certain that the origination was definitely not Yahoo!. They did a great job encoding every word yet maintaining its readability. Unfortunately for them, this also resulted in a complete loss of credibility. Perhaps they hoped I might feel sorry for the severely dyslexic Yahoo! tech and click the link out of pity?
