Today, President Bush signed the Partial Birth Abortion Bill into law:
"For years, a terrible form of violence has been directed against children who are inches from birth while the law looked the other way," Bush said as he signed the ban on a procedure called partial-birth abortion by its critics.
This bill has made it through the congress three times, but was vetoed by Clinton twice. Although a majority of Americans favor the ban, a Federal Judge is already making plans to overrule the legislation.

The procedure involves birthing the body of the baby but maintaining the head inside the mother and then puncturing the skull and destroying the brain. The article states that critics of the procedure call it "partial-birth abortion." What do those in favor of the procedure call it?

One other question: If the mother's life is in danger - does it make any sense at all to have her go through labor, force a breach birth (feet-first) and then hold the baby in the birth canal while the doctor kills it? Common sense indicates that a normal birth would be easier on the mother or even a C-Section. Of course, these two methods would result in a live indisposable baby.
