May 03, 2006
I started blogging on July 31, 2003 with with this silly post. I used to crank out 5-10 posts a day, some mere links while other essays of considerable length and thought. I've blogged through times both sad (Frodo's Last Day and Art Therapy) and joyful (Female Wrestlers), and even tragic (Hurricane Relief).
At times, I have been very serious about Politics (The Black Vote, Bush Voters Identified) and I even live-blogged the 2004 Texas State Republican Convention back when that was a new thing. And then sometimes I completely shun it, because it disgusts me so (like right now).
Did I mention how much I hate the Politically Correct movement too? Using a different name or word does nothing to resolve differences (Crayola Skin). It's just a silly band-aid, and a lousy one at that. (I also completely detest the UN.)
My faith in Jesus Christ is the foundation for everything and I pray that it is evident not only in my "Faith-based" posts (Mistaken for Gods, Molech, Religious Right = Wrong and The Shadow of His Wings) but in every post I write.
In my opinion, my best work is always those about my family (Matthew 7:5, Favorite Ornaments, Niethernet and The Knot Man is Crying).
It would be wrong to neglect to mention how much I appreciate the help and humor from my good friend (and cow-orker) The Jack (Five Questions and Text-Based Dating). (Attention Ladies, Sir Jack is very tall, extremely eligible and lives in the midwest. If you need more information, please email me.)
My favorite humor piece (which the Jack and I collaborated on) will always be Grinching. (Although Dream Sequence was also rather funny.)
Over the course of the last 2+ years, I've blogged on blogspot (for less than 3 months), graduated to MovableType and eventually migrated to ExpressionEngine. Why am I talking so much about the past? Am I closing up shop? Nope. I just wanted to point out that since October 2003, my website has sported the same appearance - a very plain 3 column, white background with some boring blue bars and a golden crown. After 2000 posts, it is time for a change. Thus, throughout the day today, the look of this place might feel a bit schitzophrenic. Hopefully the end result will be an improvement.
And No! I am absolutely not going to display the stupid 'Under Construction' animated gif. Never!
