I hope your holiday is full of joy and good cheer. The next few days will be packed with family, food and fun. Thus, I only intend to post once today and once tomorrow. (But I promise that each post will be special.)
As we prepare for Christmas this year, I continue to be astounded at the preparations which God made for it that first year:
In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. (This was the first census that took place while Quirinius was governor of Syria.)
It took years to set the Roman Empire in place. Then Augustus was set in place as Caesar. Finally God motivated him to issue a decree at the appropriate time. Perfect planning and perfect timing...all to cause a young carpenter from Gallilee to travel south with his pregnant bride to Bethlehem, the City of David.
Luke 2:1-2
Our own preparations have involved grocery shopping, decorating the house and carefully crafting a Christmas card - which I would like to share with all of you:
I hope your Christmas Eve is full of grace, and of peace. The King
