Wal-Mart haters rejoice! The state of Massachusetts is flexing its muscles and forcing the world's most evil super-retailer to comply with its demands:
The state board that oversees pharmacies voted Tuesday to require Wal-Mart to stock emergency contraception pills at its Massachusetts pharmacies, a spokeswoman at the Department of Public Health said. The unanimous decision by the Massachusetts Board of Pharmacy comes two weeks after three women sued Wal-Mart in state court for failing to carry the so called "morning after" pill in its Wal-Mart and Sam's Club stores in the state. The women argue state policy requires pharmacies to provide all "commonly prescribed medicines."Maybe this is a completely rational decision in Massachusetts, but it sure doesn't make much sense from down here in Texas. I tried to let the Dictionary explain it to me, but it did not help too much:
| Common: | occurring or appearing frequently |
| Prescribe: | to designate or order the use of as a remedy |
| Medicine: | a substance or preparation used in treating disease |
