Dean Esmay responds to a question his wife asked him:
My wife tells me that I come across like I do little but defend Bush on this blog, and asked me why I don't just come out and endorse Bush.

Actually, I spend most of my time defending the Commander in Chief from vile and irresponsible accusations in a time of war, especially in subjects that involve a war that I believe to be the most important cause of our times, and possibly the most important of the rest of our lives. Such slanderous accusations--and they genuinely are slanderous, in my view--should be backed up with the highest possible standards of evidence, or you should shut the hell up, because there's a goddamned war on. If such accusations were true then the President shouldn't be impeached, he should be dragged from the White House and hung from the neck until dead, dead, dead.

And by the way, it is not "stifling dissent" for me to say so. It's asking you to not just call yourself a patriot, but act like one, and stop the obscene partisan sniping when national unity is crucial.

Sounds fair enough to me. The remainder of the post is worth reading as well.
