The citizen-journalism movement is where journalism is heading. Newspapers, if they want to stay in the game, need to acknowledge the "lecture" model of journalism is dying, and join in the "conversation."I've always sensed a kind of sneer when big media refers to bloggers as Citizen Journalists. I think to them, the Citizen prefix stands for Incompetent, or at least Amateur (as in Unskilled or Unprofessional). Maybe Conversational is a more accurate prefix (albeit unwieldy), but I really like the mental image that Open-Source presents.
