Stephen and Nick encouraged me to try out BlogExplosion so I did, and although I am rabidly against anything multi-level, I actually like it.
How it works: You create an account and then use their link to surf blogs. It loads a blog for you to look at and if you stay there for 30 seconds or longer, you get credit for reading that blog. Then you click the continue button in the BlogExplosion banner and it gives you a new blog to read. Your own site ends up in the queue relative to how many blogs you have "read" through the BlogExplosion interface.
I don't really see this as a tool to massively increase my own traffic. I fully expect most of the hits from this source to be 30 seconds in length, from individuals who are padding their credit totals and don't read a single word from my site. I can live with that. What I find beneficial about it is the variety it has added to my blog reading.
I tend to read the same sites each day and routine can (and has) become dull. Although BlogExplosion loaded several really lousy sites, I also ran into a few fantastic reads which I have added to my bookmark list.
I recommend you give it a try. To get started, just click here.
